Dr. Nicholas Perricone could probably be described as the father of the acai berry boom. Whilst acai berry has been around for a long time now, it is only very recently that people have started to appreciate the benefits it can bring to so many aspects of your health and wellbeing. Not only does it taste great, but it can actually make you fitter, healthier and even younger looking.
So how and why did the world suddenly wake up to the benefits of the wondrous acai berry? Simple: Dr. Perricone wrote an excellent book called the Perricone Promise. In this book the Doctor analyzed a number of different foods and graded them according to a scale he defined. Using this scale it turns out that the acai berry is the very top of the tree (pardon the pun) when it comes to super foods. The berry contains loads of things that are really good for you, and Perricone says that just a small amount of this will bring your body many of the things our bodies want to get and stay healthy.
