Simple filesharing with Ares Vista
When computers are working, they amaze me. The number of things you can do on them is just astounding. When they don’t work they surely rank amongst the most frustrating things ever invented. And so it was with massive frustration that I tried in vain to get my filesharing software to work properly with Windows Vista.
I just wanted to download some music. Apparently, though, the increased security that comes with
Windows Vista (that I’m not going to complain about) just doesn’t like the way that my filesharing software works. I gave it up as a lost cause.
A quick web search later revealed that I was certainly not the only one with this problem. Encouragingly others had managed to solve the problem with a little piece of software called Ares Vista.
From the start I knew that Ares Vista would be special. The interface looks really nice and it blends well with the Windows Vista theme that I have.
Ares Vista let me choose and download my songs just as my other software did. But the difference here was that it worked. What a pleasant surprise. Without Ares Vista I would be back to buying CDs from the shop. Imagine the horror!
