The 7.9 inch iPad Mini is a little more rounded than it’s big brother which makes it better for carrying around without those sharp edges. The mini is also thinner and ways less than half that of the iPad.
The is basically more user friendly on the go. Easy to use with just one hand much like a smartphone.
The mini has a 3.5 mm headphone jack on top. The speaker is fairly good but you will want a headphone when travelling.
The iPad Mini has a 5 megapixel camera on the back and 1.2 megapixel on the front for your facetime application.
It’s not a retina display and slightly less resolution than the latest sized iPad but overall a very good quality display.
In a standard battery test the iPad mini out performed any tablet to date lasting close to 13 hours
Overall the iPad mini performs very well. It really makes for an odd choice. Do you go with the full sized iPad or the mini? No matter which you choose there are times when you will want for the other size.
Most definitely if you have poor eyesight you will most likely choose the full sized model. Really the biggest determining factor is how much you will use it on the go. If you will mostly use your tablet around the house then why not have the full size model?
If you are looking at just the smaller size tablets the iPad mini is hard to beat.
