If you’re starting a home business then you need somewhere to work. Simple as that. While you might be able to get away with working on the kitchen table or in the dining room for short periods of time this is bad in many ways: there may not be enough power points for your equipment; you may need to clear your equipment away every day once you’ve finished; and you might get any number of unwanted distractions passing past you on a regular basis. What a new home business needs is a dedicated room, or a least a dedicated area, that is for your use only.
Your home business needs attention and desk, a chair, a telephone and a computer are all necessary components. If you’re likely to spend a long time on the telephone then a good quality phone is in order; if you’re likely to be spending a lot of time typing then get a good chair and a good computer. You won’t regret these early expenditures towards your home business and, since they will undoubtedly increase your productivity, you will get your money back in no time at all.
