Ares Filesharing Lawsuit Makes Us Shake Our Heads
We all got a bit nervous when the lawsuit about Ares music file sharing was in the news. We followed the trial in the daily papers and when finally the verdict came in we were all so stunned. It seemed that making an example of that poor woman from Minnesota was the whole goal of that horrible waste of time. When we saw that story keep coming back all we could say was ” jammie thomas hits filesharing headlines again ” and shake our heads. We all just felt as if it was a huge waste of court time and resources for something that is a harmless and money saving way to get music to the people who love it.
Lots of Aussies Getting Music Illegally
It is really interesting to see who is mainly responsible for downloading illegal music. Some countries seem to have more people who do this than others. I recently was reading about this, and came across an article about how aussies give thumbs up to filesharing, with a large portion of Australian web traffic devoted to file sharing. The government is trying to figure out what they can do about this. They are hoping that some of the internet service providers will be able to help them figure out a way to crack down on all of the illegal downloading that is going on.
